Dikran was exiled with his parents
and two brothers to Deir-el-Zor. What wonder that his father succumbed to
hunger and fatigue. Dikran witnessed his father's death. When the caravan
reached Deir-el-Zor, his mother and brother were dragged away from him and he
himself was taken by an Arab to his village where he had to remain eleven year
working as a shepherd, but fortunately he was not ill-treated. One day he was
informed about our rescue-home and found a chance to flee to our agent in
Hassitshe. From there he was sent to us. We have located his one brother in
America and are waiting for the arrangement of his passports to rejoin his
long-lost brother.
