Her father and uncle fled in the beginning of the war.
She never had any news about them. She herself came on the road with her
mother, two sisters and one brother. The caravan reached a village Karta near
Malatia there her sister was taken away by a Turk. The other died on the road.
Three days they stayed in Karta then they were driven further on. After some
hours a Turk came and dragged Siranoush away from her mother. The poor girl was
brought to a village Zeinab. Nine years she was a slave in the Turk's house,
then she was sold to his brother for seven £ and married to him. She became a
daugher Lucia No. 1804. After some years the Turk was taken ill and Siranoush
did not want to live with him. He was angry and one day he tried to kill her.
The scars are still on her throat. Some gendarms saved her. For a time she was
very ill when she recovered a little she succeeded in fleeing and reached
Adiaman. There Armenians helped her to reach our home. She was operated in her
leg in May 1929. Went to our colony in October 1929 and married one of our
boys.
October 1929. Went to our
