In the beginning of the
deportation he was exiled with his parents and one sister in the direction of
Deir-el-Zor. On the road, near Albistan, his father and sister became ill and
died. The caravan reached to Deir-el-Zor and remained there for a short time,
then was sent forth again along the banks of the river Khabour, where it was
attacked by a band of plunderers. During the attack the hopeless boy lost his
mother too.
He himself was taken by an
Arab to his tent where he remained 8 years as a shepherd. Then he fled to
Deir-el-Zor and lived 3 years in a great misery. Once our agent found him and
sent him to us.
Went
to our colony September 20, 1926.
