Karekin was deported with his parents and four brothers
to Rakka. There the parents soon died and after one month also two of his
brothers. Karekin and two little ones were left alone. One day an Arab took one
of them and the other brother disappeared. Karekin was driven further on to
Tel-Abiat where an Arab from Turkmen took possession of him. Two years he
stayed there and was illtreated by the Arab's wife. One day she put him out.
Karekin fled to a village near Urfa, where a Kurd took him in. After 13 years
he fled to Tel-Samen, from where he was sent to us.
Karekin is always sick.
