When the deportation started
Hagop's father was a soldier in the Turkish Army. By and by all Armenians were
deported and he came in this way to Urfa. There his mother died of fatigue and
his brother was lost.
Hagop was taken by an Arab to
his house, where he worked 11 years, as a shepherd. As he was always
ill-treated there, once he fled to Djarablous and met with our agent, who sent
him on to us.
He does not know if any of his
relatives are alive.
