During the deportation he was
but a little child. His father died on the road near Mardin. A Kurd took Hovsep
and his mother out of the caravan and brought them to his village. Hovsep was
not ill-treated there as long as his mother was alive, but after her death, the
Kurd put him out of doors. Hovsep got his daily bread working hard on the
farms. Once he came to Mardin where he was informed about our rescue-home and
resolved to reach Aleppo. Reaching Hassitshe he met with our agent who sent him
to us.
Was
sick for a long time.
