Her father was a soldier in the Turkish Army when the deportations started. Mariam was deported with her mother until Varto where she lost her. Mariam lived in a Turkish house for seven years as a worker.
When she heard that Armenians were allowed to travel she fled to her native village. There she met some Greek refugees who were going to Aleppo. She followed them and came to us on December 1, 1922.
Her uncle Mikael is supposed to be in Constantinople.
Mariam learned embroidery and became selfsupporting.
Later she found her relatives and went to America to live with them.
