Arsen was deported when he was a small boy. Together with
his father he had to go off, leaving everything behind. His two brothers were
soldiers in the Turkish army at that time. After weeks of travelling the
caravan reached Rakka. His father had become ill on the road and died a few
days later. A beduin of this region took Arsen to his tent. As he grew up he
became the shepherd of the Arab. Arsen was quite well treated by his owner but
other Arabs outraged him because he was a Christian. Arsen fled in order to
safe his life. He met our No. 1366 and came with him to our Reception-House.
Left our care: July 20,
1928. Selfsupporting, dyer.
