Her father died before the deportation but she was deported with other scholars from the American school of Sivas. Two American teachers followed the girls until Malatia. As long as they were with them, the girls have been in safe. At Malatia the Turkish government forced these teachers to leave the caravan, after that the girls have been illtreated.
Many of them have been taken away by force by Turks ord Kourds. Nazeni went as far as Kulic where a Kourd took her to his house. She fled from the Kourd and went to Hadji Osman Pasha who was in Togharis at that time. Hadji Osman Pasha treated her very kindly but he soon died. His daughters went to Urfa and took Nazeni with them as a servant. After five years Nazeni heard that her sister was alive in Constantinople. She asked for permission to go but her master refused for quite a long time but set her free at the end.
Nazeni found her relatives and went to live with them.
