Her father died before the
war. During the deportation she lost her brother, there are no more news about
him.
Mariam and her mother reached
to Khaboor where she lost her mother. The caravan was forced to march further.
On the road she was taken by an Arab to his house. The Arab married her and she
lived with him many years without having any knowledge about her relatives.
After a time, she heard that many Armenians still were living in Aleppo, she
tried several times to return to her own nation but was hindered.
Once she got an opportunity
and fled to Deir-el-Zor, there she saw an Armenian motor-car driver, and asked
him for aid. The latter consented to her request and brought her to us.
