His father was killed in his
native town. Dikran was deported with his mother, his sister and his brother.
On their way the Kurds killed the mother. A woman from "Khezo" took
Dikran to her house and kept him there. His brother and sister were taken to
another Kurdish village. After two years he fled from the Kurdish woman and
went to the village where his brother and sister were detained. There he was
told that both had died. After long wanderings he reached again his native town
and remained four years there. After all the trouble that happened there he had
to flee again, this time he came to Diarbekir. Being afraid of becoming a
soldier in the Turkish army he fled to the South and reached Syria. He was
directed by some Armenians to our Reception-house and so we took him in.
