His father was put in prison. Later
Loris has heard that he was poisoned and killed there. He was exiled with his
mother. In Mardin a Turk took his mother to his house and married her. He went
with the caravan to Ras-el-Ain and lived eleven years in a Kurdish family. Our
agent met him many times in the street of that town, and advised him to go to
Aleppo, but the boy refused and continued his farmer's work. Once his master
beat him very cruelly and he became ill. After his recovery he fled to our
agent who sent him to us.
His mother is still living with the Kurd in Mardin.
Loris went back to the Arabs for getting some money for his sheep. He did not
return.
