Vahan was deported together with his parents, a sister
and a brother. The father died on the road. The caravan reached Deir-el-Zor.
The mother went to fetch water, she never returned. Vahan's sister and brother
also disappeared. An Arab dragged him away with him. He was treated rather well
by that man, yet he never forgot that he was an Armenian, a Christian. He was
longing to join his own nation, so when one day he met with some Armenian
chauffeurs he asked them to bring him to Aleppo. He immediately came to us and
we succeeded in finding his sister, with whom he is now living.
Left our care: August 17,
1928. Living with his sister in Aleppo.
