Newly we had an interesting case. One day a Turk, named
Sheik Muslim arrived with his Armenian wife Salver and four children. Many
years ago Salver wanted to go to Aleppo where her mother lived but Muslim would
not allow her. At last he resolved, rather than loosing his wife, that he
himself would leave his native country and move with his family to Aleppo. He
also wanted to be a Christian, he told us.
Salver's parents were living in Roomkale near Aintab.
They were deported. Their little boy they had with them, their two girls they
had left in Roomkale. The father was soon killed and the mother returned to
Roomkale. There Sheik Muslim took them all in his house. Later he married
Salver and always treated her well. The whole family is now living by Salver's
mother in a little konak. We gave them money to buy a donkey. It might then be
easier for Muslim to support his family.
Left our care: June 7, 1929.
Husband in Aleppo.
