Garabed's father died in his town. He himself was deported with his mother until Kiaghta where he lost her. Garabed went on to Besne where he lived in a Turkish house. At the beginning the Turkish family took good care of him and they sent him to school but as soon as he was big enough to help them in their work he was not sent to school any longer. One day his master beat him very cruelly Garabed could not endure this life and fled to Malatia. There he became the servant of a Turk. Some Aintab muletter saw him in Malatia and proposed him to work for him. The muleteer proposed him nine Medjidie a month and Garabed did agree with him.

            One day he came with his master to Aleppo, here he heard about the orphanages. As soon he decided to remain here in order to come back to his people.

            Garabed has no relatives.

Garabed was a bad character and returned to the Moslems no doubt to become a Muslim himself.
