Today
three children has come to us. They are not relations, but from the same
village near Harpoot, and they have the same story. Their fathers come in
prison and were tortured, till they died. Their mothers came on the road with
their little ones. They reached Harpoot and were sent further on to Malatia.
From there they had a dreadfull walk up and down the mountains. The mothers had
to leave many of the children on the road.
The caravan came to Ourfa.
There they encamped some weeks and were afterwards driven forward.
On the road they were attacked
by Arabs, who robbed and killed and brought many of the boys and girls to their
villages. The three mothers came to the same village near Rakka with their 3
children: Kegham, Kevork and Nevart. The women were treated as slaves and had
to work very hard. They all had married sisters in Aleppo, and their only
thought was that sending their children there to be educated among Christians.
By assistance of our agents
the children fled to Rakka from there to Tel-Samen and were forwarded to us in
Aleppo.
Left
