Zaroohi's father was a soldier in the Turkish Army. She was deported with her mother and sister. On the road when they were passing Tepe, a Kourd came and took Zaroohi by force to his house. Her mother and sister were sent further on.
Zaroohi lived eight years among this Kourdish family being considered as a member of them. Later she fled to Mardin with the intention to return to her former own nation. A rich Turk who was intended to go to Constantinople, adopted her as his child and when he left Mardin he took her with him. When they passed Aleppo, Armenians recognized her. They took Zaroohi from the Turkish family and brought her directly to us.
As far as we know she has no relatives.
