Rebeka's family was deported to Meskene. An Arab from there took her away from her parents. The Arab adopted her as his child and she lived six years with him. Her uncle had come once to see her and informed her that her parents were alive. They had returned to their town. He wanted to take her to them, but Rebeka could not flee. It was too dangerous. Years have passed since then and the Arab married her.
After the Armistice a Catholic merchant passed this town, when he understood that Rebeka was an Armenian girl. He talked with her and promised her to take her to Aleppo if she wanted to return to her nation. The Arab had listened to the conversation and beat her cruelly. But the merchant was an energical man. He went to the chief of the village and took her by force and saved her in this way.
We received her in our reception house on August 16th.
Left our care on her own account.
Is now living as a servant.
Left our care: September 2, 1923. Selfsupporting, Servant.
