In the beginning of the Armenian Massacres Kourds attacked the city. Most of the Christian colony were killed and wounded. The survivors became prisoners and were deported, women and girls were taken to Moslem houses.

Takoohi had lost her son, she and her daughter were taken to known Kourdish family. When the Russian Army occupied this region she was exiled with the Kourdish family to Urfa. During the war everything was getting more and more expensive and the Kourds could not support her. Takoohi went to work on farms in the environing villages of Urfa in order to gain her daily breath. An old Kourd married her by force and she lived for four years with him. Once she came with him on business to Urfa. She did not return but went with her daughter to the Armenian church asking the priest to protect her. She was received and protected there and later sent with her daughter to our Reception house.

Takoohi's brother and husband are in America.

Came into connection with her relatives and is supported by them.
