Vartuhi was deported with her husband and her two sons.
Mihran was new born. The following day her husband was taken aside with all the
other man in the caravan and killed. Vartuhi succeeded in hiding herself and
her little ones, when the caravan went further on and she returned to Arabkir.
There a Turk took her in and she stayed in his house seven months. Then she
left him and started weaving. In that way she earned her living many years. The
boys grew up and the Turks who were living round them, tried to convert them to
Islam. Vartuhi who wanted to keep her boys as Christians, asked for our
assistance. We helped her to reach Aleppo, where her sister is living. She is
staying with her.
Left our care: August 8,
1928. Living with her sister. We helped her in the beginning.
