Khatoon's father died one year before the war and her brother was taken as a soldier. She herself, her mother and two sisters were exiled to "Katma". There her mother became ill and died. The rests were sent on to Ras-el-Ain.
At a short distance from there the caravan was attacked and robbed by Kourds and Arabs, most of the people were killed, some kept as slaves others married to Kourds and Arabs. Only a few continued their way.
Khatoon was taken by an Arab, who brought her to his house and married her. This Arab had two other wifes. Those illtreated Khatoon and used her to every hard work in the house also she had to take care of the sheep and other animals.
One day a cow was lost, her husband sent her to look for it. She walked till midnight but being not able to find it, she was beaten cruelly.
In the same night, she fled to “Hassitshe”, from there they sent her and her child to us.
Khatoon's child was baptized May 21, 1925 and got the name Uersabeth.
