Krikor's family was deported in 1915 with the whole population of Erzeroom. Caravans of thousands of Armenisn were directed to Mardin and the Syrian deserts. On the road his father and his two elder brothers were killed by gendarms. After a very long and painful journey the unhappy survivors reached Mardin. His mother was exhausted and died a few days later.
Krikor was adopted as son in a Turkish family and lived eight years there. He remembered his being an Armenian and desired very much to flee but he was too small and had no money. He was waiting for an opportunity. When Armenians begun to emigrate he fled to the Armenian priest who sent him at night to our Hassitshe agent. From there he was sent via Der-el-Zor to Aleppo.
