Her father died before the war. She and her mother were deported to Remdje near Urfa. Her mother became ill and died. Almast could not support herself and went to an Arab's house. She lived seven years in the Arab family being a servant. She was illtreated and fled for this reason to Rakka. There also she went to an Arab house working for one year. An Armenian who was living there recognized her as a member of his nation. He promised her to safe her if she would flee and come to his house. Almast fled and the Armenian sent her by carriage to Aleppo.
Found a place as a servant and became selfsupporting.
