Hagop was exiled with his parents
and one sister. Near Surudj he lost them and remained all alone in the caravan.
A Turk countryman saw him and took back to his native country. There, being
protected by that man Hagop grew up and remained eleven years with him. Once an
Armenian girl, enslaved by the Turks too, told him that his mother was in
Aleppo, Hagop did not hesitate and fled to Arabpounar from where by our agent
he was sent to our rescue-home.
