In the beginning of the deportation of Armenians his father was killed. Khachadur was exiled with his mother to Veran Shehir where he lost her. A Turk from this town took him to his house and took care of him. After 3 months the Turkish government collected all Armenian children and sent them with a caravan of deportation to the region of Mesopotamia.
On the road a Turk saw him and took him to his farm. Khachadur lived 7 years with him doing farm work. One day some merchants were passing his town. He heard from them, that Armenians and foreigners have opened orphanages for Armenian boys and girls. He decided to go back to his nation. He fled, joined the leaving merchants and came to Aleppo. He was received on our house in March 10, 1923.
