When Turkey entered in the Great War, his father fled
over the Russian frontier. His older brother was living in the United States
and he himself with his mother and one brother were deported to the Diarbekir
region. Near Diarbekir a Kurd named Brro [??] Abo, came to the caravan of
deportation and took Abraham by force from his parents. He took him to his
village where he became the shepherd of the flock. Abraham never had any news
from his family and does not know what happened to them. Abraham wanted to flee
out of the dark but he was too far from Syria. Lately he came on business to
Hassitshe. He was talking to the Armenians of the town inquiring about his lost
relatives, among these people was also our agent. He sent him immediately to
our reception-house.
