This boy remembers nothing about the deportation, his
parents, his Armenian name or his native town. He knows that he is an Armenian
because his Turkish "owner" told him that he had been taken from the
caravan of deportation when he was a very small boy. Lately some Armenians were
on business in the village where he lived. They told him about the Armenians in
Syria, about our reception-house and the peaceful freedom that awaited him if
he would come to Aleppo. Vartan fled and came with them to Hassitshe. Our agent
there, sent him immediately to us.
Left our care: July 20,
1928. Selfsupporting, smith in Hassitshe.
