Satenig does not remember much from her earliest
childhood, but that her mother died in Rakka. That had made such an impression
on the child that she never forgot it. An Arab took her to Ras-el-Ain and gave
her to another Arab, Fathib. There she grew up. One year ago he married her. He
was a bad man and illtreated Satenig. One day as she was working on the field
she fled and reached Tel-Abiat. There Armenians found her and helped her
further on.
