In the beginning of the Armenian deportation his father was killed, his brother was taken to the Turkish army. Garabed with his mother and sister were deported. On the road some Turks wanted to marry his mother and sister, as both of them refused, they were killed by them.

                  Garabed was taken to an Arab family and became the servant of them. As he was illtreated by them he fled to another town and worked there four years in order to support himself. There he heard about our orphanage, fled to Hassitshe, met our agent there, who sent him to us.

                  As far as we know he has no relatives. Garabed is now in the colony.
