The whole family was deported from Harpoot to Baker-Maden. On the road his father was killed by some Kourds. His mother refused the offer of marriage of a Turk and so the latter killed her on the road.
Yeghia and his brother were taken as servants to the house of a Turkish official in Mezreh. They tried to escape but were caught and brought back again.
Both of them were ill-treated and desired to return to their nation. However, Armenians emigrating after the Armistice and so they fled to Diarbekir. They could not come further having no money. We heard about them and sent them some of the travelling expenses and so they could reach Syrian territory and we took them in our Reception house.
