Her father died before the war. She herself was deported
with her mother and her brother's wife. Her other brother was in America at
that time. It took them months until they reached Nissibin. On the way to this
town a Kurd took Mariam to his village and violated her when she was about ten
years old. Mariam was living all these years with the Kurd. Lately she could
flee to Kamishli where she met one of our agents who sent her over Hassitshe,
Deir-el-Zor to us. During her flight she was bitten by a dog, apparently mad.
She was in a hopeless condition on her arrival and she died in the Altounyan
hospital.
Left our care: December 19,
1927. Died.
