Tovmas came away from his parents in the caravan. The
poor boy erred round among the thousands of Armenians. A Kurd one day dragged
him out of the caravan and he became a little shepherd. In the beginning for
the lambs, later for the sheep and camels. Often he travelled with his
possessor, when there was something to be sold. Once, when they came to
Hassitshe, our agent discovered the boy and persuaded him to be sent to us.
Left our care: December 31,
1927. Uncle in Aleppo.
