In the beginning of the deportation
the whole family was exiled southward. On reaching Arab-Pounar, his father and
relatives were sent per train forward on, while he and his mother were taken by
a tax-gatherer, and were brought into his house. The man married his mother and
Armen remained with her. Once, he met with our agent in Arab-Pounar who
succeeded in persuading him to return to his own nation. Armen, in his turn
made the same proposal to his mother, but she would not leave her children,
whom she had got with the Turk. Thus, leaving his mother Armen came to us. He
feels himself happy at his restoring to his nation.
