The whole family was deported to Malatia, where his father was killed. His mother and 3 sisters were exiled with him to Urfa. His mother died after her arrival in Urfa. In October 1915 he was deported for the third time and so he lost his sisters. In Souroudj a Turkish police-man sold him for eight piastres to a Kourd. Haroutioune fled after 10 days from there to Roum-Kale where he lived 7 years as a shepherd with a Kourdish family.
When he heard about Armenian orphanages he fled at night time from there to Biredjik and then to Aleppo. He came to us looking like a Turkish boy.
As far as we know he has no relatives.
Harutioune went to live with his uncle in Jerablous.
X Harutioune returned on July 29th, 1923 to us, bringing with him Ohannes Nadjarian No:333 who was living among the Muslims in the region of Jirablous. Haroutioune left our care and went back to this region in order to bring his sister out.
