During the deportation time they were sent from one
village to another. In 1915 Anna's husband was taken to the Turkish Army and
attached to a road building bataillion. Once all the Armenian soldiers were
separated and when they went out to build roads, they were shot from behind by
their Turkish comrades. After one year of hostile sufferings they came back to
their native town. There again there were arrested several times but finally
set free. Anna went as a servant to a Turkish family. In order to be able to
find her child, she endeavored much injustice and persecution from the Turks.
Lately a Turk wanted to marry her by force, but she with her child fled to
Mardin and from there she came walking to Djerablus. Our agent sent her to an
Reception-House.
Left our care: November 10,
1927. Relatives in Djerablus.
