Haroutun was exiled with her
parents, one sister and one younger brother. At the banks of the river Beliet
the Kurds attacked and dispersed the caravan. The gendarms collecting the
remnant, forced it to march in the direction of Deir-el-Zor. In the vicinity of
that town they were exposed to a second attack. There his parents could not
avoid the Arabs' impious strike which was to end their lives. Haroutun walking
at all hazards reached to a village, named Djedide, accompanied with his
brother and sister. There his sister was married to an Arab and in this way he
and his brother were sheltered from the danger. They remained eleven years
there. Once their protector sent him to Deir-el-Zor in search of a lost son. On
reaching there, he met with our agent, who sent him to us. Now we are trying to
get his brother and sister.
