Djemile was deported with her husband and three children. On the road her husband was killed. A rich Turk took her with her children back to Diarbeker and she became his wife living seven years with him.
Djemile fled several times to Mardin hoping to be protected by the Americans, but she could not succeed because the Turk was following her every time and she had to return with him. She was advised to flee to Aleppo and so she did.
The Turk followed her again. He came to Aleppo and wanted to take her back to Diarbeker.
Seeing all these troubles we sent her with her children to Beirut.
We are informed that Djemile was received with her three children in a Catholic orphanage in Beirut.
Left our care: October 1922. Catholic orphanage.
