His father was killed in the Ourfa war. He himself, his mother and 2 sisters were deported.
Near Harran an Arab took Hovagim and brought him to his tent. He became a shepherd of the Arab and stayed nine years with him. After nine years of unpaid service and illtreatment he became tired and fled to Tel-Abiat to a French soldier, who sent him further on to Tel-Samen.
Afterwards our Chaffeur brought him to us.
