During the siege of Urfa his father died of wounds
incurred on him during a fight with the Turks of the town. Krikor left his
mother and sisters and fled to a village named Garmoudsch. Garmoudsch was an
entirely Armenian village. When these people were deported, Krikor also went
with them to Sapka, a town in the northern region of the Syrian desert. At
night he fled from the camp and reached Rakka early in the morning from there
he made his way back to the Urfa region. In "Melik veren" he found a
job in a Turkish farm where he worked for his food. Krikor worked almost 13
years in the Turk's farm. When he saw that there was no chance for him to
prepare a better future, he fled and went to Arab-Pounar. Our agent met him and
sent him by motor car to our institution.
