In the beginning of the deportation Ovsanna's father was taken to Diarbekir with other prominent men and was later killed. Afterwards she was exiled with her mother and three sisters. In the road near Mardin her mother was robbed and killed by Kourds and she was taken to Mardin by a Turk. She remained there 8 years as a servant.
Later the Turk married her to another Turk and she lived with him two years. Her mother's sister was in Aleppo. She heard about Ovsanna and sent a letter to her through our station in Hassitshe. When she received the letter, she left her baby two months old and fled to a Syrian house from where she was sent to Hassitshe then to Deir-el-Zor and afterwards to us.
