Aroosyag's father was a soldier in the Turkish army and he died there. Her mother was deported. Aroorsyag was taken to a known Kourdish family in order to be saved from the horrors of the deportation. A few days after her mother had been sent away with the caravan of deportation, the Turkish government collected all Armenian children and deported them separately.

            On the road a Kourd from Kanesti took her from the caravan and brought her to his house. Aroosyag lived eight years in the Kourd's family being considered as his child.

            Some Kourds were going to Diarbekir, she followed them and came to Diarbekir, there she went to an Armenian family. After several days she was sent with a caravan of emigrants to Aleppo. She has no relatives and is not able to support herself she came to us and we take care of her.
