Meriye was deported with the whole family until Der-el-Zor where all of them were killed excpet herself and her daughter.

An Arab took both of them to his house and sold them after one month to one of his friends for one-pound gold each. Meriye was married to the second owner and she lived with her daughter in the Arab's tent for seven years.

One day she heard that her brother was in Aleppo. With the help of two Armenians she fled and succeeded in reaching this city. Unfortunately she could not find her brother here. As she was not able to support herself and her daughter we received her in our reception house.

Meriye is living on sewing. Entered our camp.

Left our care: December 31, 1922. Selfsupporting, sewing.

Later she married an Armenian in Aleppo.
