In the beginning of the deportation her father fled to Russia. Vartanoush and her mother were banished to Diarbekir, the latter died there.
Vartanoush was sent with a party of refugees to Severek. She came to a Turkish house and remained eight years there being the servant of the Turkish family. During this time she found out that her uncle's wife was also a servant in a Turkish house. When Armenians started for Aleppo her aunt advised her to flee to her the same night. Vartanoosh did so. A few days afterwards her aunt engaged a muleteer and they came together to Aleppo. Her aunt cannot support her being too poor so we took her in.
Vartanoosh has no relatives.
Found an aunt in Beirut, she is living with her.
Left our care: August 12, 1923. Relatives.
