The Turks of Diarbekir married his three sisters in the first days of the Armenian deportation. Sarkis was deported with his family. Near Severek Turks and Kourds attacked the caravan. Men were separated from their families and killed in front of them.
Sarkis with his mother continued their way to Aleppo and remained in this city until one year before the Armistice. His mother died of typhus and he went to Urfa where he had a cousin. One year afterwards his cousin married but being poor could not support him. Sarkis went to Soorodji and lived with a Kourdish family until two weeks ago when he came to Aleppo.
