His father died before the war. Avedis was deported until Saf where he lived with a Kourd as a shepherd. When permisssion came for Christians to travel in Turkey he fled one night to Biredjik. From there he was sent to Jirablous and later reached Aleppo.
His elder brother is in Russia and his married sister in Constantinople.
Avedis has succeeded in getting in connection with his relatives. They sent him a little money.
Avedis learned a trade and became selfsupporting.
