His father was killed during the deportation. He was deported with many others, at a distance of three hours from the city. A Kurd came and took him to his house. Sumpad lived two years there but he was ill-treated. He fled to a Tsherkess house, his master was a muleteer and so he worked five years with him.
Once coming to Urfa on business he did not return to his master but fled to Aleppo and came to us.
His uncle is in America.

Sumpad learned a trade and became selfsupporting. Meanwhile his relatives were found and he went to live with them.
