                  Hovnan does not remember anything about his parents and family. Only he knows that an Arab from the villages near Khabour brought him to his tent, where he remained 10 years as a farmer. He got there tired of this and wanted very much to learn a trade.

                  One day he fled to deir-el-Zor where our agent found and recognized him as an Armenian and sent him on to us.
