            Araksi and her sister were deported with their parents and brother to Bozanti. Her father was ill and died there. The rest of the family was sent further on to Ras-el-Ain. There her mother and brother died of fatigue. A Turkish muleteer took Araksi to Mardin to his house and gave her sister Hermine to another Turkish family.

            The Turk wanted to marry Araksi but she refused and fled to the Governor's wife who was an Armenian. The Governor's wife protected her during eight years. Later her mistress became ill and went to a doctor. During this time Arakasi located her sister. Both of them went to the Armenian priest and asked him to sent them out of Turkey. The priest sent them on horse-back to our Hassitshe agent who later sent them via Der-el-Zor to our Reception house.

            Having no relatives and no money to live on we took both in.

 

 

            Found Araksi's uncle in America and she went there October 17, 1925. Her sister Hermine No: 562 went
