During the deportation the whole
family was exiled in the direction of Severeg. Her father was a soldier in the
Turkish army. He did not return. In a little distance to Severeg a Turk came
and took Marinos to his house. The rest of the family, her mother, two
brothers, and one sister were forced to go further on. She remained eleven
years there until we succeeded to rescue her with the help of a muleteer, who brought
her secretly to Arabpounar in recompense of a distinct payment.
