His father was a soldier in the Turkish army. A few days before the Armistice he became ill, came home and died. The Armenian deportation began and Hovhannes was deported with his mother. Not very far from their native town a Kourd took them to his house and married Hovhannes' mother a few days later.

            After the armistice, Armenians returned to this village and they wanted to rescue both. His mother, however, did not want to leave the Kourd, so they took Hovhannes by force and sent him to Aleppo.

            We find out that he has no relatives here in Syria and we took him in and are going to care for him.

            Found his relatives and went to live with them.
